London

London is the most obvious UK city break destination for good reason. London is a bustling metropolis, which offers a vast array of sights, attractions, and experiences. The big smoke has something for everyone and it’s a great place to visit with your partner, friends, or family or take a solo break. Highlights include museums and galleries, the Tower of London, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, and the West End. There’s also a huge range of parks, gardens, shops, and restaurants to discover and a raft of walking tours, old-fashioned bus trips, and river cruises to choose from. If you’re visiting London, and you’re not familiar with the underground, it’s wise to try and plan your itinerary to minimise stress and reduce travel time. Visit attractions that are in close proximity to each other on the same day and check opening times and fees online. You may be able to save money and avoid queues by booking online or purchasing combined tickets.

Leeds

One of the biggest cities in the North, Leeds is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city, which has a cool, laid-back vibe. Leeds is a popular destination for hen and stag weekends and it’s an excellent choice for those who want to combine city slicking with adventures in the countryside. Rolling hills, moors, and valleys are just a short drive or train journey away. You can also take advantage of minibus taxis in Leeds to go to the races or enjoy live music at festivals and concerts. Leeds is also ideally placed for exploring charming, quintessentially English towns, such as Harrogate, Knaresborough, and Ilkley.

Bristol

Bristol has a huge student population, but it’s not just a perfect city break destination for those keen to party hard or enjoy quality time with friends. Bristol is a beautiful city, it has fabulous architecture and there is always something going on. Check the events calendar for local festivals and amazing events like the annual International Balloon Fiesta. If you’re staying for a few days, it’s well worth hopping on a train or driving to nearby Bath, one of the most historic cities in the country. Visit the famous Roman baths and take a stroll along the iconic Royal Crescent.

Edinburgh

Scotland’s capital city is a hotspot for tourists and it’s not hard to see why. Steeped in history, Edinburgh is a visually enticing city, which boasts labyrinth-like cobbled streets, an imposing castle, and an impressive collection of pubs, restaurants, and independent shops. Sports fans will be spoiled for choice with easy access to major football and rugby stadiums from the city center.
