Apple introduces new 9.7-inch iPad with Apple Pencil support

Yesterday Apple hosted an education themed event and launched a new iPad!

Designed specifically for students this 9.7 inch iPad will also support Apple pencil, which is sold separately but has had price drop to become more affordable to its target audience for this product.

Logitech also launched a crayon stylus at half the price! Unfortunately for the rest of us, this has been launched for schools only.

Apple is updating its iWork suite of productivity apps — Pages, Numbers and Keynote — with new features that make it easy to add more creativity to your documents, spreadsheets and presentations on iPad.

For the first time, users will be able to draw, sketch or write with Apple Pencil directly in the Pages, Numbers and Keynote apps. With Apple Pencil, advanced yet easy-to-use tools allow all users, from students to professionals, to bring their documents to life with drawings, illustrations, diagrams and more. Apple Pencil can also be used to easily and precisely add colour, texture and more to any drawing.

Apple also announced Schoolwork, a powerful new app that helps teachers create assignments, see student progress and tap into the power of apps in the classroom. Schoolwork builds on the success of Apple’s Classroom app, which is used in schools around the world to help integrate iPad into the classroom. Schoolwork and Classroom are designed to help teachers and administrators get the most out of integrating Apple technology into schools.
