Your life is busy. It never stops. From work to family to play – there is always something going on. Even if your life is great, and hopefully it is, you still need time to reset and recharge so you can keep going. Read on to learn some effective ways to give yourself a break.

Play a Word Game
Word games are popular amongst many age groups for a reason. They are fun, and they challenge you. You can play word games parallel with your friends and compete to see who gets the answers first. In addition, these types of games will help your mental acuity and cognitive function, which is good for everyone.
Look for fun games that you will be eager to play each day. Start off your morning with a word game, but do not allow it to be a stressful activity. Instead, if you cannot figure out the answers or need to double-check a word, give yourself some grace and use phoodle answers. You probably had the answer anyway, but it is always good to find out. It is supposed to be fun, after all.
Create a Beverage Ritual
It’s time to romanticise the simple things. There is something to the ritual of making coffee or tea, and it can turn something so mundane into something special.
Select high-quality tea or coffee beans and store them in attractive containers with practical yet pretty scoops. When you open the containers, let the aromas wash over your senses. Now, go about the process of preparing them. Put the beans in a burr grinder. Set the water kettle to boil to just the right temperature. Find the ideal mug. Once everything is ready, complete the ritual with a pour-over coffee method in which you wait for the perfect cup of coffee. Or opt for steeping your tea to your desired level of taste. Add sugar or cream, and enjoy. The process is part of the experience.
Do Nothing
Do nothing? Yes. Do nothing. The Dutch have a term, “niksen,” that encompasses the idea of doing nothing at all. Thismay equate to the practice of mindfulness, in which you sit in the moment and quiet your thoughts. Niksen gives you permission to not be productive but instead to stare at a blank wall and be quiet and calm. Stare out the window on your morning train. Simply do nothing at all. Just be.

Get ready to take a well-deserved break. Use one or all of these helpful ideas to relax a little bit more, challenge your brain, and, sometimes, just do nothing at all. Whatever you are doing will still be there when you are done taking care of yourself. Remember that you matter, so you should put yourself at the top of your to-do list every once in a while.
