Bert's Pizzeria

08.05.2017

I didn't visit Bert's with the intention of writing a blog post but I have felt inspired to so here we are :)

Bert's Pizzeria is a quaint and hidden little restaurant that I've been wanting to go to for quite a while.

It's located in Brandsburton right on the lake. That's the main reason I wanted to go. I saw it on one of my friends instagram posts and thought they were on holiday!

Unfortunately it's pretty much impossible to get there via public transport from Bridlington but if you do have a car or are willing to fork out for taxi fare (or if you live within reach!) it's well worth a visit.

The view from the car park.

We visited on a Wednesday lunchtime, got the very last parking spot and the place was pretty full!

The only bad thing I have to say about the place is that the staff seemed a little hostile. They did warm up after a while but they didn't seem super happy in what they were doing. They were however extremely good at their job and the place ran like a well oiled machine. They just lacked a bit of friendly attitude and a smile. We were greeted with the question 'have you booked' and then not much of a good reaction when we said no, followed by being taken to a table as far away from the window as it could possibly be even though there were plenty of tables right near the window (that looks over the lake) and nobody came to sit in those while we were there. Didn't give us a good first impression. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day!

In all honestly we were expecting more of a cafe than a restaurant as they advertise themselves as a restaurant and cafe but we didn't see any signs of cafe-ness so I'm unsure what that relates to XD

Anyway, on to the food. I ordered the spaghetti bolognaise and it was SO YUMMY. It looked super cute in it's little pan too. I ate every scrap!

We ordered between us the spaghetti bolognaise, a lasagne, 2 coffees and and orange cordial and the total bill came to £20.45. Not freakin bad!

Of course the main thing not to be overlooked here is the location of the place. It's beautiful! RIGHT ON THE LAKE. We even saw some little ducklings.

So glad I got the chance to try this place! I'd love to go again sometime and sit outside on an evening next to a patio heater :)
